The challenge

Publishers Clearing House's legacy Shopify platform was slow and conversion rates were suffering. The catalog architecture needed a complete overhaul while maintaining brand recognition and integrating their sweepstakes system. Page load times exceeded 3 seconds — well above the threshold where ecommerce sites lose significant revenue to abandonment.

The approach

Rebuilt the full catalog architecture on Shopify Plus, optimized performance across cart, checkout, and mobile flows to achieve sub-1-second loads. Implemented on-page SEO improvements for ecommerce product pages, built a custom bonus threshold bar, and integrated with the CleanSweeps API for sweepstakes functionality.
