The challenge

Compliance teams at financial firms run trading surveillance across fragmented legacy tools — dated UIs, slow alert flow, weak investigation workflows. Sentinel had to give compliance leads a real-time, multi-tenant view of trading activity, market-abuse alerts, and investigation status — dense enough for analysts but readable enough for compliance leads, with a per-firm rules library that supports regulatory configurability.

The approach

Building Sentinel as a full-stack multi-tenant fintech SaaS with real-time trading surveillance. Live ticker feed across major instruments, alert pipeline tagged with a 5-level risk taxonomy, and investigation case management with role-based access (Compliance Lead, Firm Admin, Analyst). Dashboards surface total alerts, open and closed investigations, account growth, and an instrument × hour heatmap of alert density. Rules Library supports per-firm compliance configuration; Global Reports support cross-firm regulatory submission.
